The Fair Promise
Together, Elijah’s Promise and Fairgrown Farm are creating the first ever industrial sized #10 cans of Jersey Fresh tomato sauce specifically produced for use in New Jersey’s emergency food system including the Elijah’s Promise Community Soup Kitchen.
New Jersey produces millions of pounds of fresh produce each year yet much of it never reaches the people who need it most. As food insecurity continues to rise among children, families and seniors, innovative local solutions are essential.
The Fair Promise Project is a collaborative farm-to-community initiative designed to increase access to regionally grown produce while strengthening a resilient and equitable local food system.
Special thanks to the New Brunswick Development Authority (DEVCO) for supporting this new initiative. DEVCO’s implementation funding is helping to make the first year possible, bridging the gap between buying from large commercial suppliers and sourcing small-batch, locally grown tomatoes from dedicated New Jersey farmers.
