Promise Agriculture 2020 Update
Promise Agriculture is delighted to be back in action with our two urban agriculture spaces in 2020. After a brief hiatus and planning to ensure our growing spaces staff, and community are safe, we cannot wait to begin sharing the stories of Promise Garden, Promise High Tunnel, and the people who are part of the story of that land and food.
Promise High Tunnel is hosting two varieties of cucumbers, heirloom tomatoes, kale, garlic, rainbow swiss chard, and beets this season. We are excited to welcome two full-time AmeriCorps summer interns, Emily and Victoria to assist us with production at this space. They will help maximize the vegetables that we source to our Community Soup Kitchen and to Meals on Wheels of Greater Middlesex County.
At Promise Garden, all garden plots are full, including an additional 6 raised beds that we built this year. We have increased the density of plantings in our public beds, and have look forward to providing mustard greens, kale, swiss chard, spinach, arugula, and herbs to our programs this season.
Unfortunately, we are not accepting volunteers at any of these sites until further notice. Please reach out to Suzy Jivotovski at ag@elijahspromise.org with any questions.
We look forward to sharing this season with you!
